Blue Velvet Shrimp

Freshwater shrimp originate from streams, rivers, and ponds throughout Asia, where they live among plants, rocks, and leaf litter.

Shrimp love heavily planted aquariums with mosses, driftwood, rocks, leaf litter, and plenty of hiding places. Sponge filters are highly recommended for shrimp tanks.

Feed shrimp pellets, algae wafers, blanched vegetables, biofilm, and occasional protein-rich foods. A varied diet helps support healthy molts and breeding.

Shrimp thrive with other shrimp of the same species or color line. Different Neocaridina color varieties may interbreed, resulting in wild-type offspring.

Most Neocaridina shrimp breed easily in freshwater aquariums. If you want the colors to stay pure, you must have one color tanks as the colors will mix and become muddled with different colors.

Our shrimp are carefully packed with insulated packaging and heat or cold packs when needed. Slow acclimation is highly recommended, preferably using a drip acclimation method.
